ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

This 2-day program on Organizational Leadership will give supervisors and managers the critical strategies needed to improve your leadership performance and achieve organizational success. We will address the Merit System Principles, Performance Based Interviews, Flexibilities in the Appointment process, Conduct versus Performance, Building Partnerships with Labor Unions, resolving conflict through the Alternative Dispute Resolution process to include the importance of civility, and ultimately to the challenges of correcting misconduct at the lowest possible level. Through lecture, case study, role-play and group interaction, we will examine human behavior in organizations at the individual, interpersonal and group levels. Training will address issues of leadership styles and competencies for success, privacy and mission impact, customer service and quality care, setting short and long term personal and professional goals, and identifying key competencies found in effective leaders.  A focus of this program will be on the dynamics of teamwork, building trust within teams, reducing communication barriers, and strategies to encourage leadership and staff development. Supporting the agenda will be a review of landmark Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and Federal Circuit rulings, as well as discussion about the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) posture with case law.
